I think you should go with the volumised look. Blow dry it and backcomb the inside bits. I think a huge black silk headband would match the look.

For cuttting I suggest you go with short choppy layers at the top and a sidebang.

She needs the haircut to go with it.

Now, if she doesn't have layers she at least needs layers.

And all I could tell her what to do is to rat it by combing her hair upwards, using hairspray (a little bit at a time before you know how her hair will react) and blow dry to add volume.

*Experiment, only on days where she doesn't have to do anything special, just in case it looks bad.

*Don't use cheap products. Tell her to buy her products from pro hair salons.

*And please, don't be a poseur.
