i as well have long hair but mine is straight and i can never curl it couse it wornt stay... so why wont you try curling it and maybe later on cute it in layers.... or die it in just a new whole different color...

It is wrong to suggest styles to someone when you don't know what she looks like. You could use hairstyles software to find styles for yourself.

then i would do layers.

and a fringe bang (or straight) to the side

the layers should be choppy

they fall over one eye and make you look kinda sexy and mysterious. they look the best with blackish hair

I think you should go with the volumised look. Blow dry it and backcomb the inside bits. I think a huge black silk headband would match the look.

For cuttting I suggest you go with short choppy layers at the top and a sidebang.

Um there isn't any particular punk style out there...

She needs the haircut to go with it.

Now, if she doesn't have layers she at least needs layers.

And all I could tell her what to do is to rat it by combing her hair upwards, using hairspray (a little bit at a time before you know how her hair will react) and blow dry to add volume.

*Experiment, only on days where she doesn't have to do anything special, just in case it looks bad.

*Don't use cheap products. Tell her to buy her products from pro hair salons.

*And please, don't be a poseur.

Try tieing your hair up in different styles or putting more hair on one side or middle.

I have the same hair that you described...... I pull it up into a bun and put chop sticks in it for work. When i go out i like to curl just the ends..... I don't recommend layers because i did that once before and I hated it. It takes along time for your hair to grow one length again and you can only have that one style with out strands of uneven hair sticking out if you try something else.. Good luck.. Don't cut your hair I think long hair is unique because it takes patience to grow it.....
