I stop getting perms january 2007 and was getting my hair pressed at the salon or wearing rods sets or micros. Now here it is a year later and I'm scared to take my micros out cuz I have no clue what to do with my hair. I stop going to the salon cuz I needed to save money. Do any1 have any ideas on a good hair style I could wear that dosent require a lot of time and money. Or any suggestions will be great.

I had my hair natural for a couple of years after i started college. You can do double strand twists. There are so easy and once you undo them you have a really cute crinkly pattern in your hair. You can set your hair in bantu knots and then once you take them out, you have more of a curly pattern in your hair. Straw sets look vey nice in natural hair. Coils. There's a lot of options out there.
Check out your local library because there are a lot of books on natural hair and the styles that you can wear. I reakkt like "No Lye" by Tulani Kinard and "Good Hair: For Colored Girls Who've Considered Weaves When the Chemicals Become Too Ruff" by Lonnice Brittenum Bonner.
Also, type in "natural black hair" in your search engine of choice. There a lot of pics, info, and support on the net

I have natural black hair too! The best hairstyle is to leave it down. And make sure it's like hanging in front of one of your eyes if you want to look real mysterious. Or you can push most of hair to one side too. Either one looks the best. And it doesn't even cost a penny! Also it doesn't cost much of your except 2 to 5 minutes! How great is that!

I would take down the micros, press you hair , and keep it in cornrows or twist it at the top and the leave to back loose. Pressing your hair will allow your hair to grow more than the perms. Twisting or braiding the front portion of your hair will be the most work that you would have to do. The hair style usually lasts about 1-1/2 weeks depending on how you take care of it. Just make sure that you tigh your hair up every night with a silk scarf. You can get the silk scarf at Sally's Beauty Supply.

If your keeping it natural, id say braids. It keeps it controlled, it can be done at home, and if done well, can always look nice. Try different braids or twists. Itll take lots of practise, but many people can braid, twist or cornrow their own hair. try strting with 2 strand twists. theyre pretty simple, and if you do them small, they can look quite classy.

An easy style for you is braid outs. Basically, wash and condition your hair. Add your leave-in and styling product. Then make braids all over. The more braids you make, the smaller the waves/curls will be. The less braids you make, the bigger the curls will be.
Make sure each section is completely detangled before you braid so that they'll be smooth. You can stop braiding about an inch or two before the end and roll the ends with sponge rollers for a nice curl.
Wear a satin cap or scarf and go to bed. When you wake up, take the braids down one by way making sure not to mess with the natural formation. Style how you want it and spray with a glosser for shine.
Good luck!
